June 1st - Round 14 and a trip to Tasmania & a trip to Brisbane was on the agenda for the weekend for the Commercial Club Bandits & Lady Bandits. The men had friday off work to travel to the Apple Isle, a 109 - 82 victory to the Hobart Chargers on Friday night. Andrew Rice 17, Ryan Kersten 16 & Damien Barber 10 rebounds. Saturday night they moved over to Burnie & NW Tassie where the guys went down 100 - 68. Andrew Rice had another great game, 27 points & 17 reb Ryan Kersten 15 points.

May 25th - After the week off both The Commercial Club Bandits & Lady Bandits were back on court last night. The girls hosted the Launceston Tornados & were shown the way by 2007 Lady Bandits Natalie Hurst & Peta Sinclair with 26 & 14 points in their 97 - 62 win over the Lady Bandits. Alex Duck was again brilliant with 22 & Rachel Jeffery 17.

The guys faired a little better ending up just 5 points short of Kilsyth 100 - 95. Andrew Rice 29 & Ryan Kersten 22, were the leaders for the Bandits now that Janev has returned to the USA for School, hoping to return before the final rounds of the season.

May 18th - The Commercial Club Bandits both Men & Women had a weekend off. Results for the rest of the league. Instead of crashing the boards they were flipping cards at the Poker Night.

May 11th - The Commercial Club Bandits & Lady Bandits hosted the Frankston Blues The girls were first on the court and a 20 point game from Alex Duck brought the girls to one of the closest margins in weeks, 75-54. The Andrew Rice-less Bandits went down 109-80 to the high flying Blues Janev's game high 29 points wasn't enough for the guys.

May 4th - The Commercial Club Bandits traveled to the nations capital this weekend and the Lady Bandits went south & across to Tasmania. The Commercial Club Lady Bandits visited Launceston and the Tornados inflicted a 96-51 loss on the girls, than this afternoon NW Tassie also inflicted a loss on the girls 84-68 Alex Duck had a great weekend, 16 Saturday & 24 today.

The Commercial Club Bandits in Canberra also suffered 2 losses 110-74 Saturday night, Janev 19 points & today a closer game against the AIS 92-88 with Rice on 30 Janev 24.

April 28th - The weekend for the Commercial Club Bandits & Lady Bandits suffered losses to Ballarat, the Girls 95-48 & the guys 120-104 and Coach Wilson upset at the lack of contributors, here is Steve Smiths story from the Border Mail

April 20th - The weekend that finally brought the Commercial Club Bandits sealed their first victory of the 2008 season in a come from behind 91 90 over the Canberra Gunners. Rice 25 Janev 21. The Commercial Club Lady Bandits traveled to Kilsyth and went down by 24, 81 - 57. Jesse Smith lead with 21 & Jane Sheetz 12.

This afternoon, after a very long road trip to take part in Mt Gambier's first Sunday game in the SEABL at the Ice House. It remained icy for the Commercial Club Bandits, going down 99 - 94, after leading 32-18 at the first break, the Pioneers held the Bandits to only 13 in the 3rd. Andrew Rice 21 Ryan Kersten 18.

April 14th Week 7 weekend in the SEABL & both Commercial Club Bandits & Lady Bandits remain winless. The Lady bandits down to Kilsyth at home while things looked a little more positive the the men. With a 41 point loss to a Brisbane Bullets laced Spartans side, Janev, when teamed with Andrew Rice things looked like a front court line up, and for most of the game Spartans Justin Brown won very few one on one battles with Andrew Rice. Sunday after a 6am airport appearance to return south, the Commercial Club Bandits went down again by 41 points. Stats for all games follow the links.
April 8th - The Commercial Club Bandits today added a height advantage to their ranks as they sign NBL Singapore Slingers big man Blagoj Janev for the remainder of the 2008 season Details

April 6th - Last night the Commercial Club Bandits & Lady Bandits were both at the Hide Out for the visiting Hobart Chargers & Launceston Tornados. The girls, again lead by Alex Duck were 26 points short of Launceston 81 - 55 Stats.

The boys also fell short of the Anthony Stewart lead Hobart by 27 points, 120 - 91. Even a full 48mins and a Double Double from Andrew Rice 22pts & 12 reb, wasn't enough Stats

April 4th - Word from Coach Wilson
March 30th - This afternoon, The Commercial Club Bandits traveled to Knox, The Girls have been there once this season & today also came away with a loss 87 - 59 Stats . The guys faced up to Nick Payne for the first time and were handed a 65 point drubbing 138 - 73 Stats
March 29th - Commercial Club Bandits Men & Women have a double header weekend, home tonight & on the road tomorrow afternoon. The Commercial Club Lady Bandits were shown how to rebound and the consequences of that going down 96 - 47. Stats The Commercial Club Bandits hosted Geelong, after just falling short last weekend and this week, Geelong shot at over 50% from the field & over 40% from the land of plenty they handed us a 45 point defeat. March 22nd - Happy Easter!!! The Commercial Club Lady Bandits have the weekend off, but the Bandits travel to the Arena at Geelong. With the return of Allen McCowan, the boys fell 13 points short in a high scoring affair 115 - 102 Stats
April 16th - The Commercial Club Bandits & Lady Bandits traveled to Kilsyth last night with results less than expected. The girls went first & came away with a 20 point defeat 84-64. Lead by Alex Duck 22 & Jessie Smith 12 Womens Stats After that the guys stepped up & suffered their largest loss is years going down by 110-55, Gavin Illanagakoon topped with 14 Andrew Rice 11. Men Stats . Sunday afternoon the Commercial Club Lady Bandits detoured to Ballarat and again a loss 79-55 Ellie Gleeson stared with 19 Stats

 

March 9th - Last night the Commercial Club Bandits & the Commercial Club Lady Bandits faced off against Nunawading. The girls started things off at 6 with their first home game, and the Spectres inflicted a 53 point loss 127 - 74 Stats

Next the guys stepped in for their second home game & a closer game still left the Spectres 15 point winners 126 - 110 Stats

Australian Institute of Sport guard PATRICK MILLS has been rewarded for his hectic year with a position on the All SEABL East Men team in his last season before heading to St Mary’s College in the USA.  Joining Mills in the back court on the team is SHANE McDONALD of the Nunawading Spectres, and in the front court is the athletic BRAD SHERIDAN of the Albury/Wodonga Bandits and past league MVP’s DAVID GRUBER (Frankston Blues) and ANTHONY PETRIE (Canberra Gunners).    

SOUTH MEN
Recent West Sydney Razorbacks recruit TROY DE VRIES has been rewarded for his sensational SEABL season with a position on the All SEABL South Men team in his first season.  Joining de Vries in the backcourt is ANTHONY STEWART of the Hobart Chargers, and in the frontcourt is Kilsyth Cobras duo JON CROFT and CHRIS CAMERON, along with DANIEL GEORGE of the Hobart Chargers.    
 
WOMEN
Joining Ballarat Lady Miners KAREN ASHBY on the All SEABL Women team are first time recipients NAT HURST of the Albury/Wodonga Lady Bandits, CAITLIN CUNNINGHAM of the Nunawading Spectres, and GABRIELLE RICHARDS of the Bendigo Lady Braves.  Rounding out the team is Bendigo Lady Braves and SEABL All Time games played leader ANDREA WALSH.

August 6th - The SEABL Media Awards have been announced today & the Border Mail have once again walked away with shone nice trophies. Details

Aug 6th - The SEABL Finals have been decided & as expected, Bendigo & Geelong are the venues for the games. Bendigo take on Knox in the South, directly after the Womens Grand Final & a battle royal between the old rivals Bendigo & Ballarat. In the East its Geelong & Canberra, all games will be tight & no easy paths to the Nationals.
